Dr. Hans Dieter Hertzog M.D.

Dr. Hertzog is a 4th-generation ophthalmologist and a 5th-generation medical doctor. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Harvard University. Between college and medical school, Dieter spent a year performing research in several different fields of ophthalmology. He authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed publications, including papers examining genetic predispositions to macular degeneration and publications pertaining to keratoconus, glaucoma, and clear-corneal incisions in cataract surgery. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda School of Medicine, where he ranked 1st in his class, out of 169 students. He then completed a residency at the prestigious Doheny Eye Institute, where he became well-versed in cataract surgery, trauma and glaucoma.
